As a service to our customers, Silver Star Wireless offers Handset Protection, a low cost protection against loss and damage of your wireless phone. This program covers damage not covered under manufacturer warranty.

How to enroll

You must enroll your handset at time of purchase, at time of contract renewal that includes any new handset, or when paying full retail for a replacement phone.

Replacement Guidelines


  • Handset Protection provides repair or replacement coverage for your wireless phone in the event damage that is beyond repair. This policy does not cover normal wear and tear to your phone.
  • If you choose to upgrade and purchase a different phone model, you will be required to pay the difference in retail between the original and the new phone, as well as, the $35 deductible before an exchange is made.
  • Phones may be replaced with a “like phone” having “like features” and is of similar value. Replacement phone model will be chosen by Silver Star Wireless based on availability.
  • Two claims will be allowed per 12 month period.
  • No cash reimbursements will be paid.
  • Any phone having a claim made towards it will become the immediate property of Silver Star Wireless if it should become available.

Terms & Conditions
This program covers direct physical damage to a wireless phone for which a serial number is registered and on file with Silver Star Wireless. Two claims are allowed per 12 month period.
Coverage

  1. Property covered by the Handset Protection Program is the wireless phone excluding any accessories.
  2. Any damage not covered by manufacturer warranty, excluding normal wear and tear from regular use.
  3. Customer is responsible for notifying Silver Star Wireless when phone is damaged, and customer is responsible for monthly access fee while claim is being processed.
  4. Customer is responsible for any loss including, but not limited to, a loaner phone and any personal or business communications needs including any perceived monetary losses.
  5. If a claim is deemed fraudulent, customer will be billed back for the retail price of the replacement phone on their wireless service account.
  6. Handset Protection subscription must remain in place 12 months following each claim or a $50 charge will be billed to your service account. If your service account has been disconnected prior to the 12 month time frame, Silver Star Wireless may turn your account over to collections for the retail value of the handset at the time of replacement.
